Body recovered

* The body of one Salamat Hussain (45) was found hanging in his quarters at EAC, Upper Shillong on October 29.

* On October 27, the body of a minor girl, Feriza Begum (14) was recovered from Rongai River at Puskinipara (WGH). The body was sent to Tura Civil Hospital for post mortem and the matter is under enquiry.

* On October 24, the body of Shrup War was found hanging from a tree in a jungle at Lawkhla village (EKH). Necessary formalities have been observed.

Abuse

AS Singh lodged a complaint at Madanrting PS that on October 29 at about 10:30am, Mahavir Agarwal and his wife Pooja Agarwal indecently abused and also outraged the modesty of his wife at Demthring, Shillong.

Drugs peddlers arrested

On October 29, Police arrested three people – Rema Hmar, John Baglary and Zanglal Kipgen – from Madanrting, Shillong, and also seized four grammes of heroin valued at around Rs 12,000 from their possession.

Rape

* On October 8 at around 11am, Rojet Mawblei (31) allegedly raped a woman (42) in a jungle at Jirang village (RB). Investigation is ongoing.

* Sebenson D Sangma of Anangpara village (SWGH) lodged a complaint that Helwith A Sangma allegedly raped a girl.

Stones pelted

One Rich B Marwein lodged a complaint at Lumdiengjri PS that on October 29 at about 7:30pm, unidentified miscreants pelted stones at his vehicle at Paltan Bazar junction, Shillong. As a result, the front windshield of the vehicle was damaged.
