Kohima:  The Graduate Electrical Engineers Association of Nagaland (GEEAN) and All Nagaland Unemployed Diploma Electrical Engineers Association (ANUDEEA) have suspended their agitation followed an assurance from the parliamentary secretary for power Kipili Sangtam that advertisement would be published strictly based on the engineering service rule
The GEEAN and ANUDEEA were demanding advertisement of all the vacant posts of junior engineers and conduct of recruitment examination through NPSC.
The associations yesterday staged an agitation at the office of the Chief Engineer (Power), Kohima to press for their demand.
They demanded that there should be no promotion from lower grade to Junior Engineer (JE) until and unless the required ratio of 90:10 has been maintained as per the engineering service rule.
According to the associations, they received a letter from Kipili Sangtam stating that the issue has been discussed with chief secretary and chief engineer power.
The parliamentary has reportedly assured that the advertisement would be put up based on the engineering service rule.
It was learnt that the associations have returned the letter to the parliamentary secretary stating that his response was not satisfactory. The two associations have decided to find out work progress at the office of the Chief Engineer (Power) on November 11. (UNI)
