Imphal: A married woman died mysteriously here Friday night creating tension. Janeshori reportedly committed suicide according to her husband R K Sanatomba of Chingamakha Meisnam Leikai. Tension was high as people suspected foul play and family members of the woman were not informed about the incident on Friday. They only came to know about the matter from neighbours later.
Locals tried to question the husband of the deceased after the incident but they were stopped by police who rushed in to control the situation.
A public meeting was held and it was pointed out that the death of the woman needs probe as there were bruises and marks of torture.
Family members of the Sanatomba were also boycotted by the locals for alleged involvement in the death of the woman. Police said Sanatomba is now in its custody and investigations are going on. (UNI)
