Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, Organising Committee chairman AL Hek said that the tournament will see the participation of golfers from different clubs and corporate houses all over the country, besides golf clubs from Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand and Bangladesh.

He said that the tournament is also a platform for budding golfers of the state to showcase their talent.

“We are organising this tournament with the sole objective of promoting golf tourism in the state. This tournament would also help to showcase the rich culture and heritage of the State at the national and international level,” Hek, who is also the Minister in charge of Information and Public Relations, said.

He added that the government hopes that this event will help attract potential investors to Meghalaya.
