SHILLONG: St. Edmund’s College secured a comprehensive 116-run victory against a lackluster Synod College while St. Anthony’s secured an easy 7-wicket win against Sohra College, as the winners sealed their berths for the semi-finals of the NEHU Inter-College Cricket tournament.

In the first match of the day, St. Edmund’s College won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 171 for 6 in the stipulated 25 overs. In reply, Synod College were all out for 55 runs in 14.3 overs, the victory margin for St. Edmund’s being 116 runs.

In the other match played on Thursday, Sohra College won the toss and elected to bat first but lost the plot as they could only manage a paltry 96 for 7 in 25 overs. In reply, St. Anthony’s College chased the target in 13.5 overs with 7 wickets to spare.

The semi final matches will be held on Friday. St. Anthony’s College will take on Shillong College at 8 am while the second semi-final will feature Kiang Nangbah College, Jowai against St. Edmund’s College at 12 noon.
