PPA demands compensation for Tato hydel-project

Itanagar: People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) has demanded the Reliance Power Limited (RPL) for immediate payment of compensation money to the project affected people of 700 MW Tato-II hydel project in West Siang district of the state.

Extending constant support to the genuine demands of Project Affected Peoples’ Action Committee, Tato, PPA general secretary lambasted the power developer as well as the state government for allegedly adopting a dilly dallying tactics in providing the compensation which has compelled the local land owners to take to the street, party release said on Thursday.

The regional party threatened to take legal action against the executing Agency for allegedly playing with the sentiment of the local people.

The Party further urged the state government to intervene the matter and ensure payment of their long pending dues within a stipulated time. (UNI)
