SHILLONG: Two top footballers from Meghalaya — Aibor Khongjee and Rocus Lamare — have been named in the 21-member squad of the Indian National team.

Khongjee is currently playing for Mohun Bagan while Lamare is the vice captain of Goa-based Salgoacar SC.

Lamare made it to the 21-member squad following the injury to the Pune FC midfielder Arata Izum.

When contacted, Lamare said that it is really a great joy that two players from the State have made it to the national squad.

“I am also very happy for Khongjee since it is consistency which have earned a place in the team,” the Salgoacar vice captain said.
