NONGSTOIN: The farmers of two villages in West Khasi Hills District, Tiehsaw village and Pyndengrei village have appreciated the successful completion of the scheme, Jalkund Pond in which a Check Dam was constructed at River Phodtongkrong by the office of the E E (WR) Water Resource Department Nongstoin.
Even though the scheme was sanctioned at a small amount, the farmers were confident that in the next season it would materialize to be economically profitable for them unlike in recent years when many of their fields suffered due to the scarcity in supply of water.
