Tribute paid to slain policeman in WJH

JOWAI: The West Jaintia Hills District Executive Force (WJHDEF) paid tributes to one of the slain policeman, Leki Chyn Ryngkhlem, who was shot dead during the ambush by suspected GNLA militants in South Garo Hils on November 5.

Altogether, five policemen were killed in the daring attack.

The Salami at his native village, Demthring was performed by WJH hills police in the presence of the Superintendent of Police, HG Lyngdoh, Urban Affairs Minister, Ampareen Lyngdoh, Local MLA Stephanson Mukhim, Education Parliamentary Secretary, Justine Dkhar, the Deputy Commissioner, Peter S Dkhar besides other police officials both from the District and headquarters in Shillong.

The funeral ceremony was conducted by the Mynthong Presbyterian Church and was attended by thousands including relatives, friends and well wishers
