Appointment of qualified grade IV candidates

NONGSTOIN: The Association of Qualified Grade-IV, 2005-2011, West Khasi Hills set a two week deadline for the State Government to appoint them to the vacant posts in various government offices failing which they will resort to agitation.

Speaking to media persons here, the Association President Guidingstar Mawlieh said that there are only 25 candidates left in the Association who did not get appointed while there were 19 vacant posts which the Deputy Commissioner did not utilize to appoint them.

Mawlieh also said that the Association had met the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary recently to discuss their demand and the Chief Secretary had taken up the issue seriously. He even wrote a letter to the Deputy Commissioner two months ago and sought his clarification as to why the 19 posts were not utilized to appoint those 25 candidates. However the DC’s reply to the letter remains pending.

The Association also wanted to meet the Deputy Commissioner on Thursday asking for clarification regarding the matter but the DC refused to meet them.

“We have been sincerely requesting the concerned department to terminate the services of all the temporary appointees and accommodate the qualified Grade-IV candidates as per the merit list of the District Selection Committee (DSC),” association president G Mawlieh said in a statement on Thursday.

The Association therefore demanded the Deputy Commissioner to clarify within two weeks or they will hold a fast unto dead.
