Fresh petrol bomb attacks in city

Three petrol bombs lobbed at Lumdiengjri

SHILLONG: In yet another arson-related case that occurred within 24 hours of the attack on a tea stall in Bishnupur locality of the city, unidentified miscreants hurled three petrol bombs at Sulleman Compound in Lumdiengjri locality in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

Police informed that out of the three petrol bombs hurled by unknown miscreants at 2.43 am on Sunday morning, only two exploded. The first bomb exploded near the kitchen of the house belonging to Avishek Chettri, while the second petrol bomb exploded in an adjacent house belonging to Chandrabala Chettri. The bombs, however, failed to cause much damage apart from burning clothes hung outside the house.

Police recovered one chloromint container fill with petrol and another two such containers which were burnt.

No arrest has been made so far in the case and investigation was on.
