JOWAI: Unknown miscreants killed the headman (Rangbah Shnong) of Iongthma village — Elington Pale– in Nongjngi on Wednesday night.
Incident took place at around 10pm when Pale was returning from a friend’s house, sources said adding that he was hit from behind on the neck with a sharp weapon. Pale died on the spot.
Sources also informed that three week back unknown persons had destroyed his garden located in the outskirts of the village.
The West Jaintia Hills police have registered a case in this connection.
