SHILLONG: Appreciating the decision of the government to dissolve the CMJ University following the suggestion from the Regulatory Body, the KSU Education Cell has however, expressed concern over the fate of the students of the university.

“What will happen to those students who have been duped by the university authorities if the government still takes time to relocate them to other institute,” KSU Education Cell secretary Donald Thabah said in a statement here on Saturday.

Urging the government to consider relocating these students at the earliest, Thabah said that dissolving the university is not enough, “but it is the duty of the government to ensure that the students have a secure future,” he added.

Thabah also stated that the lackadaisical attitude of the government to respond to their demands since 2011 to conduct inspections in all the Universities of the State has cost the careers of many students dearly.
