SHILLONG: The All India Garo Union (AIGU) has dissolved the existing interim body and unanimously constituted the full fledged new body for a period of 2 years which is the normal tenure as per the constitution of the Union.
The meeting which was held on Saturday in Shillong observed that the dissolution of the existing Interim Body was necessitated for the formation of the new body as it has completed its tenure as Interim Body. The resolution for the formation of the new body was moved by the general public, who are the supreme authority of the Union as per the Article 10 (a) & (b) of the AIGU Constitution, which was adopted and resolved by the House. The new office bearers include Elbarth Marak (president), George G. Momin (vice-president), Walter M. Sangma (secretary general), V. Momin (addl. secretary general) among others.
