ACCIDENTS ACROSS STATE

  • lThe driver of a truck (AS01EC – 3791) sustained injuries when the vehicle went off road on a turning after it developed some technical snag at Mawdiangum under Umling Block, Ri-Bhoi District on Wednesday at 5:57AM. The driver has been identified as Balram Kumar (20/M).
  • lA TATA Sumo (AS24C – 1524) heading towards Guwahati from Shillong, was hit by a truck on the side and on impact the TATA Sumo hit a wall on the side of the road when the driver lost control of the vehicle injuring one person, Jai Pal Sigh (50/M). The incident happened near the DTO Office at Downgate, Nongpoh under Umling Block, Ri-Bhoi District on Tuesday at 8:10 PM.
  • lA passenger travelling in an auto rickshaw sustained injuries when the vehicle was involved in collision with a truck at Kuligaon under Betasingh Block, South West Garo Hills on Tuesday at 5:21 PM. The injured person has been identified as Minoto Koch (30/F).
  • lA Maruti Alto hit a tree on the side of the road after it developed a technical snag at Mawlai Mawtawar, Shillong, on Friday at 2:14pm. Ronald Nongrum (M/11), Wankitbok Lyngdoh (M/14), Daphibiang Nongrum (F/11), Rocky Snaitang (M/15), Rahul Nongrum (M/13) and Banpynskhem Nongrum (M/15) were taken to Nazareth Hospital, Shillong, by ambulance.
  • lA motorist and a pillion rider sustained injuries when the motorbike they were riding hit a wall on the side of the road at 4th Furlong, Shillong, on November 7 at 11:54pm. The two were shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital.
  • In all the above cases, the 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based at the respective locations helped in shifting the injured to various hospitals.
