SHILLONG: The District Medical and Health Officer of West Khasi Hills, Dr P Lyngkhoi has clarified that the doctor at the Nonglang Health Centre was performing his duties as given to him and he went out of station only for meetings, training programmes and home with information provided to the Controlling officer.

The clarification came from the medical officer after Khasi Students Union, Nonglang Unit along with KSU Mawshynrut Circle vice president Armstrong Sohshang inspected the Nonglang Primary Health Centre and alleged that the doctor of the hospital remained absent from work frequently.

According to Lyngkhoi, cleanliness is maintained in the hospital and OPDs are regular and disposal of waste is done as per guidelines.
