SHILLONG: While ruling out implementation of ILP in the State, District Council Affairs Minister HDR Lyngdoh has made it clear there is no division in Congress over the issue.

“All Congress MLAs share one mind over the issue,” Lyngdoh said on Tuesday.

Talking to reporters here, Lyngdoh said even Manipur Assembly had passed a resolution to implement ILP but it was rejected by the Centre.

While stating that Shillong is the transit route for other states, he questioned that how one can be so sure that an individual who is going to another state via Shillong does not get down within the jurisdiction of Meghalaya.

According to Lyngdoh, there are other mechanisms other than ILP to deal with the issue of influx in the state.
