SHILLONG: Guwahati Combined Club and Kolkata Club won their respective quarterfinal matches to progress to the last-four of the Shillong Cricket Association’s Platinum Jubilee Cup T20 tournament.
Guwahati CC beat Malki CC by 43 runs after the latter chose to field first.
Guwahati made 146/7, with Sanzan Brahma scoring 58 off 46 balls. Pahara Mukhim bagged 2-33.
Malki were then restricted to 103/9, with Sylvester Mylliemngap top-scoring with 26 runs.
Four Guwahati bowlers picked up two wickets each.
In the other match, Kolkata CC beat Royal CC by 55 runs.
Batting first, Kolkata made 138/8, with Subhash Kumar making 26 and Ganesh Sahani taking 3-22.
Royal CC were then bundled out for just 83, with Rajesh Tati making 31. Kartikegya Singh claimed 5-18 for Kolkata.
The first semifinal will see New Friends Union (the only team from Meghalaya left in the competition) take on Kolkata CC. Guwahati CC will then face Manipur for the remaining spot in the final.
