Bri Sumer Rangbah Shnong’s murder

JOWAI: The Khliehriat Police have a launched a manhunt to arrest those involved in the killing of the Rangbah Shnong of Jalaphet Bri-Sumer, in East Jaintia HIlls District a week ago. The Rangbah Shnong, late Ken Syrti was brutally assaulted and succumbed to his injuries at Woodland Hospital. He was assaulted on November 22 and died on November 28.

The five suspects who are wanted by Khliehriat Police were found absconding from their village. The prime suspects are residents of Sutnga who intercepted him at Moopala village and assaulted.

“We have identified the accused but could not arrest them as they were found absconding from their village”, the EJH SP, MK Dkhar said adding that the names would be revealed in the coming days.

Meanwhile, sources informed that the Dorbar Shnong and residents of Sutnga village were helping the accused. “The Dorbar Shnong and the people of Sutnga village did not cooperate with us”, a police officer said.

“The law is equal for everyone, we will not stop hunting them,” the SP said.
