SHILLONG: A delegation from Gujarat comprising of BJP ministers and legislators who visited Shillong to seek cooperation for construction of a statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, were denied an audience by Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma, leader of the Congress-led MUA-II Government.

The delegation could not meet the Chief Minister owing to his ‘busy schedule’.

“We believe all chief ministers have busy schedule and we hope to get his assurance,” Gujarat Cabinet Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramanlal Vora, told reporters here.

The delegation had met Congress Chief Minister of Assam, Tarun Gogoi, prior to their arrival in Shillong.
