Guv highlights pivotal role of Home Guards

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Governor Dr KK Paul on Friday said that the Civil Defence and Home Guards can play a major role in acting as eyes and ears of the administration and Government to ensure better delivery of service.
Addressing the annual day celebration of the Central Training Institute, Civil Defence and Home Guards on Friday, Dr KK Paul lauded their efforts in traffic control and disaster management response. While calling upon people to be responsible citizens, he quoted, “Every policemen is a citizen   with uniform and every citizen is a policemen without uniform.”
Besides, parade, the other highlights of the function included presentation of medals, announcement of the names of recipients of Director General Home Guards and Civil Defence, Meghalaya Awards.
