Special Camp
The NSS unit of Lady Keane College, Shillong is organising a 7-day special camp at Pingwait village, Mawkynrew in East Khasi Hills from December 9 to 15 with main activities being construction of community assets, technology training programme in collaboration with the state council of science technology and environment and medical camp in collaboration with NEIGRIHMS.

Barnes L Mawrie
A Salesian priest who holds a doctorate in Religious Education from UPS, Rome, has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Anthropology by the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) for his thesis entitled “From Maternal Uncle to Father: An Anthropological Study of changing Patriarchy in Khasi Society” under the supervision of Dr. T. B. Subba (VC of Sikkim University). He is the son of late S. Khyriem and late B. Mawrie of Rynjah village.
ARC personnel commits suicide
SHILLONG: The body of one personnel of ARC Shillong, Naik Lalhmubik (30) was found hanging inside his room at Assam Rifle Bazar, Happy Valley here on Saturday morning.
The police stated that Lalhmubik had committed suicide inside his room. The police ruled out any foul play in this regard. His body has been forwarded for conducting post mortem.
