Rev. Dominic Jala ordains Laloo as priest

JOWAI: The Archbishop of Shillong Archdiocese of the Catholic Church, Rev. Dominic Jala on Sunday ordained Deacon Crescent Roy Laloo, a resident of Tyndo Wapung Jowai, as a priest of the Diocesesean priest hoop of Jowai Parish at the gathering held at Marian Playground St. Theresa Cathedral Church, Jowai.

Thousands of faithful witnessed Deacon Crescent Roy Laloo take his religious final vow to be a priest till his death.

He was ordained a priest of the Catholic Church after completing his long years of training including the studies of philosophy and theology at Concelebrated Holy Mass.

Delivering a homily at the priestly ordination ceremony, Rev. Archbishop Jala exhorted the newly ordained priest, Fr. Laloo to dedicate his service in spreading the word of God, in looking after the faithful and be an obedient servant of the Catholic Church.

“The main duty of a priest is to serve the people and we should understand that serving people (a follow human being) is a service to god”. Rev. Jala said.

The ordination of the priest, Deacon, Laloo was conducted in a very grand church meeting. He is the son of Louis Suchiang and Ms Ermilinda Laloo. He completed his degree in Arts and Philosophy in 2006 and theology from Kolkata (Calcutta). He was ordained as a deacon on June 2013 at Mihmyntdu Jowai by the Acrhbishop, Rev. Victor Lyngdoh of Nongstoin.
