SHILLONG: Sunday being a holiday prevented the State BJP from celebrating the party’s victory in the just concluded Assembly elections.

“Due to Sunday being a holiday, the victory of the party in Rajasthan, Delhi, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh was not celebrated in the State party office in Shillong. The victory will be celebrated with the party workers in the coming days”, General Secretary of State BJP Dipayan Chakraborty said in a statement issued here on Sunday.

The State unit of BJP has sent congratulations to all the state unit Presidents of Rajasthan, Delhi, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh for their spectacular win in the Assembly elections.

“The win in these States has proved that people are desperate to remove the Congress party at the Centre as well as in other state Governments in Delhi and Rajasthan”, Chakraborty said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party could do spectacularly well in Madhya Pradesh because of the good governance in the state and, in Chhattisgarh also the party has overcome all odds, he said.
