SHILLONG: NCP leader and Deputy Speaker Sanbor Shullai will leave for Delhi on Tuesday to have discussion with the central leadership on the finalization of candidates for district council and Lok Sabha polls.
Shullai said on Monday that the meeting will be held on Wednesday in Delhi where the State presidents of the party will brief Delhi leadership about the action plan for the elections in their respective states.
Shullai, however, did not disclose the number of seats the party will be contesting for the district council polls.
Though NCP had earlier said that it would field candidates in both Shillong and Tura Lok Sabha seats, the meeting in Delhi will also explore the possibilities of any pre- poll alliance with the likeminded parties.
While the NCP at the Centre is part of UPA, the two legislator of NCP are also supporting the Congress-led MUA Government in Meghalaya.
