BSNL launches high speed internet

HILLONG: BSNL on Thursday launched its Fibre to the Home (FTTH) project.

FTTH, a new technology, provides high speed broadband internet (up to 100 Mbps). The project cost Rs 1.5 crore.

Speaking at the launch programme, IT Minister AL Hek urged BSNL to reach out to rural areas where connectivity is still a problem.

Urban Affairs Minister, Ampareen Lyngdoh rued that sometimes it is easy to make a call to someone in America than making a call in the interior of Meghalaya.
