1 killed as car falls into gorge

SHILLONG: One person died on the spot while the driver of a Tata Nano sustained grievous injuries when the vehicle they were traveling in drove off to the side of the road and fell into a gorge due to poor visibility at a place just before reaching Pariong under Mawthadraishan Block, West Khasi Hills on Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as Nobestar Marwein (23) while the injured driver was identified as Wilderness Pariong (18). The driver was shifted to Pariong PHC.

The incident occurred when the vehicle was heading to Pariong from Nong Shillo
