Kohima: Renowned Bollywood personality and Miss Asia Pacific 1970, Zeenat Aman arrived Nagaland on Saturday to grace a Silver Jubilee function of a school in Dimapur on a two-day visit to the state.
According to sources as silver bells tolled at Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School (LFHSS) Dimapur, a star studded Silver Jubilee programme was held with the presence of renowned film actor Zeenat Aman, along with Rev. Dr. Clement Rajakumar, Vice Principal and Chaplain St. Stephen College, Delhi, Vivek Mishra, reality star of Big Boss 2013, model, actor, fitness yogist and Christy, French actress, dancer & singer.
Welcoming the star, LFHSS students paid a rich tribute to the actress, with performances of some of her super hit signature songs like ‘Dum Maro Dum’, and ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’ anthem.
The star was also surprised with a lively performance of ‘laila o laila’ by parents of LFHSS students. The school administration also heartily welcomed her saying ‘Aap jaisa koi, hamara school main aaye, toh baat ban jaaye.’
‘The evening has been inspiring,’ said Zeenat Aman addressing the crowd of students, parents, faculty and fans at the Silver Jubilee ceremony.
Stating that it is her first visit to Nagaland, she quoted the lines ‘Chura liya hai tumne jo dil ko’ driving the crown into a frenzy.
Clearly impressed with the achievements and laurels of LFHSS, Dimapur, the star said, ‘I wish I or my sons could have been a student here.’ One can see the hard work the administration has put in towards the school, she stated, and expressed delight to be a part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations.
The star also released the School Souvenir cum Magazine during the ceremony. ‘First Day Cover & Cancellation’ was declared by Rev. Dr. Clement Rajakumar. (UNI)
