Pre-Christmas celebrations
Christ International Senior Secondary School, Nongsder celebrated “Advance Christmas” in the presence of Chief Advisor of Meghalaya Government DD Lapang and other Government officials. Different community leaders also participated in the event under the theme”Peace and Brotherood”. Carols were sung and North East awards were also distributed to outstanding personalities of the North East.
Christmas wishes
On the occasion of Christmas and New Year the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee extended its warmest greetings and best wishes to the people of the state. The MPCC hoped that birth of the “Prince of Peace” would be a blessing to all and the Christmas spirit of love, compassion, peace giving and joy be showered upon all the people of the State.
Meeting
The All Meghalaya Grade IV Government Employees Association in its meeting held recently elected Donald Marbaniang as president and Elgin S Sangma as the general secretary.
Midnight swim
The 17th midnight swim will be held at the Crinoline Swimming Pool on December 31 to welcome the New Year 2014. To add to the challenge, 60 blocks of ice each weighing 50 KGs will be put into the pool.
Magic Show
As a part of RNB Cements commitment to promote local talent, the company will organise a magic show where John Lanong, a city-based magician will entertain the people at Khyndailad point on December 21,22,24 and 31 from 5 PM to 6 PM.
Awards
Around 40 staff members of the PHE department, Nongstoin were recognized for their outstanding service in the year 2013. Superintendent of Police West Khasi Hills, S.Nongtnger gave away the awards to the employees at a function held at the PHE campus here on Friday. Nongtnger also lauded the efforts of the Executive Engineer, PHE for his innovative ideas which enhanced the performance of the department.
Convocation
A convocation was held for the 100 students who completed their graphic and web based training programme run by Meghalaya Information Technology Society and Arena Shillong. IT minister AL Hek attended the function.
