Agartala: All India Trinomool Congress (TMC) has urged President of India Pranab Mukherjee to send a high level independent team to review the ground situation of lawlessness and under development of Tripura.
The state TMC Chairman Ratan Chakraborty informed that a delegation of the party led by General Secretary Mukul Roy had called on Mukherjee after holding six hours mass demonstration in Jantarmantar in New Delhi on Thursday over left front’s misrule in Tripura.
“President made a patient hearing to our demand and assured us to look into the issues,” Chakraborty stated adding that Trinomool Congress had exposed Manik Sarkar in Delhi where he had been recognised as clean man and head of a clean and best performing state.
Besides, 500 TMC supporters and leaders, a huge crowd were gathered in Jantarmantar, Mr Chakraborty claimed. TMC’s demonstration and deputation to President held a day before conferring best administered state in public interest to Chief minister Manik Sarkar in New Delhi by India Today.
He however, pointed out that in the memorandum to the president it had been explained how corruption was scaled up in the state in past 20 years of left rule and how people had been facing administrative inaction in any atrocities of CPI-M cadres.
“The congress in Centre is hand in glob with CPI-M and despite repeatedly taken up the issues of misrule of left front government in Tripura, Sonia Gandhi has compromised with Manik Sarkar ignoring commoners’ sentiment and left front came into power by manipulating entire electioneering in connivance with congress leaders in last assembly poll,” Chakraborty alleged.
At a time when entire opposition had been alleging malpractice in MGNREGS, Rural Development program, siphoning off centrally sponsored schemes, Monmohan Singh led UPA II government had been recognising Tripura as best performing state, which is really ridicules.
“TMC believes CPI-M has joined hand with Congress to retain leftist in power in Tripura and in return they wanted to do politics together against other political parties; otherwise, there is no reason to support Manik Sarkar’s misrule repeatedly,” Chakraborty added. (UNI)
