Nagaland 1st Rubber Producers Society launches

Kohima: The Pongidong Rubber Producer Society (PRPS), first of its kind in state, was inaugurated at Pongidong Village under Wokha district of Nagaland.
According to PRPS statement the Additional Rubber Production Commissioner of Wokha M. N. Gopinath addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest on Saturday congratulated Pongidong villagers for taking up rubber farming as a means of income generation for livelihood.
He stated that the agro climatic conditions are favorable for growing rubber in Nagaland and requested the growers to follow the guidelines of rubber board of india in cultivating rubber in scientific manner.
The members were delighted when he announced that RBI will extend both financial and technical support for the construction of the PRPS office in the coming Year. He also assured that the department will extend all possible help to make the rubber farming a success story in Nagaland.
The wrong practice of farming was also briefed and corrective measures were explained for future farming.  (UNI)
