New Delhi:  The BJP will aggressively market the “Narendra Modi-for-PM” message across the country in a bid to reach more than 10 crore people, the party said today after a strategy meet aimed at making its campaign for the 2014 general elections more sharper and more effective.
“We will run a Modi-for-PM campaign across the country, people can contribute from as low as Rs. 10 to a maximum of Rs. 1,000 towards this,” BJP general secretary Ananth Kumar said.
Mr Kumar said apart from contouring the party’s campaign around the appeal of Mr Modi, it would also work at the booth level in a massive out-reach programme.
The main opposition party is looking to build on its spectacular showing in the recently held Assembly elections in four major states; it swept three states and was the single-largest party in the fourth, Delhi.
It had won 407 of the 589 seats for which counting was held on December 8, leaders had noted.
Tuesday’s meeting prepared ground for the BJP’s Council and Executive conclave to be held in January, party leaders said. Top leaders from all states, including Chief Ministers, the entire Parliamentary Board, state units presidents and other office-bearers attended.
Also on agenda was a discussion on how the BJP can reach out to voters from all sections and age groups using traditional methods of campaigning as well as making effective use of social media, rallies and workshops.
War rooms will be set up in all states; the BJP plans to go granular and incorporate state-specific issues in its manifesto and campaign for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.  (Agencies)
