SHILLONG: The next hearing  on the interim bail  application of  CM Jha, the Chancellor  of CMJ University will be held in January, sources said.
According to sources, there was a hearing in the second week of December in the Supreme Court on the interim bail granted to Jha.
Earlier, police had challenged the interim bail granted to Jha alleging that he was not cooperating with the CID as far as interrogation was concerned.
The State Government recently sought a four-month extension from the Apex Court before deciding to close down CMJ University.
It was after the State Government received several applications from the students of CMJ for their accommodation in other Universities that the Government has decided to seek extension of four months before finally dissolving the University.
On September 13 last, the Supreme Court in an order endorsed the stand of former Governor RS Mooshahary for dissolving the University and asked the State Government to give its action plan within three months after providing enough opportunity to the University to give its views.
