SHILLONG: In the first match of the new season of the Super Division Cricket League TnT Sputnik CC defeated Malki SCC by eight wickets at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Thursday.
Malki SCC won the toss and elected to bat first, but were bundled out for just 116 in 31.5 overs.
Manish Sangma top-scored with 36 runs, while Swarajeet Das claimed five wickets for 19 runs in 6.5 overs to help his team run through the Malki line-up.
In reply, TnT Sputnik polished off the required runs in just 16.5 overs for the loss of two wickets.
Vishal Konwar made 58 off 51 balls, while Swarajeet also contributed with the bat, scoring 48 off 45 balls.
The next match will be a First Division contest between Keating Road CC and Madanriting SCC at 9am.
