7 persons held in stealing case

SHILLONG: Sohra police on Sunday morning arrested seven persons allegedly trying to steal batteries from an a cell phone tower at lad Mawphlang under Sohra Civil Sub Division.
SDPO (Sohra) Ian Swer said that the seven persons were caught red handed by the villagers and the  vehicles of the thieves  was  first  noticed by Sordar of Lad Mawphlang  and four miscreants were caught by the villagers.
The arrested persons have been identified as  Md Puta Ali,  Md Budus Ali,  Maerlin alias Nomer Nongbri, Md Sohidul Islam, Md Riyajul Hoque , Md Nozirul   Mula and Dhirendra Ch Das and all of them have been forwarded to court.
Police also seized a vehicle (ML 05E 9690), which was used by the miscreants.
