Mizoram bans crackers

AIZAWL: While people in Mizoram are gearing up to celebrate New Year 2014, they are not allowed to enjoy with crackers and other fireworks in prevention of man-made accidents amidst celebration times.
State government issuing the public notice today stated that some shopkeepers are trying to take advantage of the arrangement made by the government such that particular venues will be selected where people could gather for moment of celebration with fireworks and glittering crackers. Shopkeepers are known to take advantage and sell out crackers and other fireworks, which is not allowed, says the State authority.
“People all over the State are reminded that the government strictly prohibits selling and using of crackers and fireworks by any private individual”, the government notice reads clear. (NNN)
