Latin singing sensation Ricky Martin and his longtime beau, stock broker Carlos Gonzalez Abella have called it quits.
A representative has confirmed their amicable split, adding that the exes will ‘continue to be united by friendship and their shared experiences’, it was reported.
“Ricky and Carlos have mutually agreed to end their relation-ship but continue to be united by friendship and their shared experiences,” a representative issues a statement.
“Changes oh changes,” the 42-year-old Grammy winner cryptically tweeted just before the New Year. Distance may have been a factor in their split. “They have spent very little time together and have grown apart. They’ve been on the outs for a while now,” a source said. On New Year’s Eve just before the announcement, Martin showed up solo at his show at the Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort in Cancun. Martin and Abella began dating in early 2008.
The singer publicly came out as gay in a 2010 blog post and went public with his romance with Abella by thanking his partner when receiving an award from GLAAD more than two years ago. (IANS)
