RBYF committee dissolved; fresh election on Jan 23

NONGPOH: In a bid to strengthen the working policy and to strive for better public service through social activities, the General Executive Committee (GEC) of the Ri-Bhoi Youth Federation (RBYF) has decided to conduct an election for electing the new leaders and office bearers of the Federation.
The GEC has dissolved the function of RBYF from Monday till the election of new office bearers is completed.
RBYF, central body secretary LK Sawkmie informed that the GEC has taken this decision to dissolve its function in Ri Bhoi District till new members is elected along with new leaders of the federation in the election to be held on January 23, 2014.
“The federation was supposed to elect new leaders along with new office bearer in the GEC through an election slated for June 30, 2013, but due to the agitation over the demand for implementation of ILP in the State, in which the RBYF was actively involved, the said election could not be conducted last year,” Sawkmie said.
Meanwhile, the RBYF also informed the general public of Ri Bhoi District that even though the Federation had been dissolved, it would keep on rendering its services to the public and to look after their welfare.
The Federation also extended New Years’ greetings to the residents in Ri-Bhoi District and across the State.
