‘Accused yet to secure bail in regular cases’

SHILLONG: Even though the family members of FKJGP leader Reginald Thabah are questioning the police for booking him under other criminal cases after he was let off Meghalaya Preventive Detention Act, East Khasi Hills police on Thursday said that the accused is yet to get bail in many regular cases.

East Khasi Hills SP M Kharkrang on Thursday said that Reginald Thabah has not got bail in regular cases and there are many cases against him.

FKJGP assistant information secretary Reginald Thabah (32) was arrested from Kyrbom, Lower Mawprem while he was moving in an ambulance belonging to the FKJGP (ML05 J 3341) in disguise, ostensibly to commit some crime.

He was booked under MPDA but was later released from detention on the advice of the Governor after he had appeared before the Advisory Board which is dealing with the MPDA related cases.

The family members of Thabah alleged that he was brought from Williamnagar to Shillong on January 7 and he was detained at Sadar police station and three more days of police custody was sought for him in connection with other cases.
