ST Editor appointed as IIMC governing board member

New Delhi: Padma Shree Patricia Mukhim, Editor of The Shillong Times, has been appointed as Member to the Governing Board of the prestigious Indian Institute of Mass Communications, New Delhi for a period of two years with immediate effect, official sources informed on Thursday.

The IIMC is one of India’s premier institutes for training, teaching and research in mass communication. It was set up by the Government of India in 1965 on the recommendation of a team of internationally known mass communication specialists from UNESCO and the Ford Foundation.

The IIMC, with its headquarters at New Delhi, has three Regional Centres in Aizawl (Mizoram), Amravati (Maharashtra) and Dhenkanal (Odisha). Plans are afoot to open two new Regional Centres.
