SHILLONG: Police on Thursday arrested two persons in connection with the brutal murder of Lovelystar Khongjoh at Lyngshing village in East Khasi Hills recently.

Police had recovered the chopped body parts of Khongjoh from several places in the jungles surrounding the village on January 3.

The arrested persons have been identified as Madwas Mukhim (45) and Khlai Mukhim (57).

Police said that the arrested persons were last seen drinking together with the victim before he had gone missing.

“While the man’s head and one of his lower limbs was recovered from near one of the internal roads leading to Lynshing village, his upper limbs were recovered in pieces from a nearby jungle in the village yesterday,” East Khasi Hills SP M Kharkrang said.

Khongjoh, a herbal practitioner by profession, is suspected to have been looted and murdered on Christmas Eve when he had gone to Lynshing village for shopping, police had earlier said.
