SHILLONG: City police have arrested two persons for allegedly confronting and assaulting an armed branch constable Plieborlang Nongsiej (SWAT).
East Khasi Hills SP M Kharkrang on Thursday said that a complaint was received from Plieborlang Nongsiej that on Wednesday night, while proceeding to his house at Umsohsun, Shillong and on reaching at Wahingdoh, Shillong near Ram Krishna LP school, he was confronted by four boys who blocked the road and did not allow him to pass and instead assaulted him with a bottle and threatened him with dire consequences.
Two of the accused persons are Jesse Obet Skhemlon of Jaiaw and Heh Kupar Nongbri of Mawprem were arrested and forwarded to Court. They have been remanded to five days police custody.
