Treilang breeze through in footy c’ship

SHILLONG: Treilang (Malki) easily got past Nalarympei (Nongmynsong) 5-0 in the Meghalaya Open Football Championship, organised by the Bouncers Association of Meghalaya in association with the Meghalaya AIDS Control Society, at Malki Ground on Saturday.
Batista Marboh got the Malki team going with a 22nd minute goal before Maitshaphrang Kharumnuid doubled the lead in the 40th minute.
Two goals then followed in quick succession with Pyndap Rymbai making it 3-0 in the 48th minute and Debin putting the match well beyond doubt with a goal just a minute later.
Pyndap then earned his brace with a 56th minute goal.
Later, in the afternoon match, Raitong Sports Club (Ri-Bhoi) came through 4-3 on penalties against Snohlang FC (Lama Villa).
Full time had ended in deadlock with the two teams tied on two goals apiece.
Remdor Makri scored a brace for Raitong SC with goals in the 11th and 49th minutes, while Micky Wahlang did the same for Snohlang (22nd and 44th minutes).
Monday will see just one match, featuring Combine XI FC and Mawlaiteng SS&CC at 1:00pm. There will be no games on Sunday.
