TURA: A woman was waylaid on her way home and shot dead by unknown assailants on Thursday last at Bolsong area of Bajengdoba region in north Garo Hills.
The victim, Grenalish D Sangma, was shot by a group of men while she was moving along Gosingvita village road.
Police believe that the assailants may have been targeting the victim’s elder sister on suspicion of witchcraft but were unable to get to her and instead targeted the victim.
