LUDHIANA: Art and creativity is universal and as such devoid of age and other consideration. Young upcoming artists with boundless art and creativity have shown without a shadow of doubt that given an opportunity and platform, even these art cubs can excel in their creativity.
The venue of Examination hall of Agriculture University in Ludhiana on Wednesday witnessed an artistic extravaganza as over 80 young Indian artists from different states gathered to exhibit their talent on the Young Artist Camp (competitive) during the 18th National Youth Festival which has been underway since January 12 at Ludhiana, Punjab.
Among these young artists, three artists from Meghalaya participated in the Young Artist Camp which includes Photography which was represented by Eric Calvin Ranee (23), Painting represented by Kismos Tangsang (24) and Sculpture represented by Donlang Marten (20).
The Young Artist Camp was inaugurated on Wednesday by the chief guest Saleem Ahmed, Director General of NYKS.
In his speech as the chief guest, Ahmed stated that young artist camp is a novel idea which provides platform as well as opportunity to the young artists to show their artistic talents, the art work in wooden, clay and other forms are not only shooting but real treat to our eyes.
“Winning and losing are not important but equally important is participation in such events, youth are an asset of our country and this event is a grand opportunity for them to prove themselves that they are the best”, said Saleem Ahmed.
During the day on the 18 National Youth Festival, other events which was commenced on Wednesday includes, elocution represented by Embok Syiemlieh, folk dance by the team from Garo Hills, folk song by the team from Mawryngkneng, one act play by the team from Ri Bhoi District.
