ing that he would not contest coming Lok Sabha polls, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has said he would do so if his party asks him to but he won’t be in the race for the top post.

He said the coming elections would see a fight between BJP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

In separate interviews to news channels, Kejriwal, when asked whether he would contest Lok Sabha elections if the party asks him to do so, responded in the affirmative.

“If the need arises, then I will contest elections. Personally, I don’t want to contest elections,” he said.

This assumes significance as Kejriwal had earlier said that he or any of AAP MLAs would not contest the Lok Sabha elections.

Asked whether he was vying for the top post, he said “I don’t want any post. I dont want to become any minister. I want to establish Swaraj in India.”

Dismissing Congress’s prospects in coming elections, he said the next poll will be a battle between BJP and AAP.

He claimed “Delhi (assembly elections outcome) will be repeated at the national level. Congress won some 7-8 seats in Delhi (assembly elections). This will also happen at the national level,” he said.

Taking a jibe at BJP, he said “The Aam Aadmi has halted BJP’s rath (chariot),” adding his government has done a better job than compared to newly-formed BJP governments in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

He said “if the Narendra Modi promises good governance, Rahul Gandhi promises inclusive one, then we promise Swaraj, government of the people.” (PTI)
