GHSMC to resume statehood movement

TURA: The Garo Hills State Movement Committee (GHSMC) has announced that it would resume its demand for a separate Garoland State on linguistic lines the decision for which was taken during its executive meeting held recently.

In a statement issued here on Saturday the General Secretary of the GHSMC, Augustine R Marak however assured that it would not be organizing NCMs, picketing and other forms of strong agitations until the upcoming examinations and Parliamentary Election are over.

He further informed that the committee was going to re-activate its Zonal and Regional branch committees of the entire Garo Hills region as well as set up new Blocks and Regional Branch Committees. The committee has also appealed to well wishers and all citizens to actively support the statehood movement.
