Syiemlieh pair lead Lawmali to victory

SHILLONG: A fifty and three wickets from Lurshai Syiemlieh and a half-century also from Ricky Syiemlieh helped Lawmali PSCC on their way to a 26-run victory over Malki CC in an SCA Super Division Cricket League match at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Monday.
After electing to bat first after winning the toss, Lawmali made 204/6 in their 40 overs (going at over five runs an over), with Lurshai contributing 61 runs and Ricky 54.
Sanoj Kumar bagged 2/30 in eight overs for Malki CC.
Lurshai then returned with the ball during the chase to take 3/12 in 6.2 overs as Malki were restricted to 178 all out in 37.2 overs.
Krishna Chettri was their top-scorer with 57 runs from just 44 balls in a losing cause.
The next match will be played between First Division teams Langsning SC and Keating Road at 9:00am on Tuesday.

Second Division entry forms available

The Shillong Cricket Association has opened entries for the Second Division of the Shillong Cricket League.
Forms are available at the SCA office during office hours. The forms, along with payment, should be submitted by January 27.
Preference will be given to affiliated clubs while the other slots will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Basic criteria will have to be met, with the clubs either being registered or authorised from a locality within the Shillong jurisdiction.
