Meeting

  • The District Election Officer, East Khasi Hills has informed that the meeting in connection with the General election to the KHADC will be held on February 3 at 11 am in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. All contesting candidates have to attend the meeting.
  • Annual General Body Meeting with election of the new office bearers for the session 2014-15 of the Shillong Meitei Tengbang Lup will be held on February 8.

A control room for Lok Sabha elections 2014 has been setup at DC office (Room 204) with contact number 0364 2502079 for public inquiry regarding the election

Condolence

  • Two minute silence would be observed at 11 am on January 30 in memory of those who gave their lives in the struggle for India’s freedom. Silence should be observed and work and movement should be stopped for two minutes throughout the State at 11 am
  • The Meghalaya Fencing Association has condoled the death of Nabin Ch Tamuli who passed away on January 29. The association remembered his services as executive member of the association.

Notice

  • It has been informed that Manash Dutta, UDC who is an employee of HQ Chief Engineer Shillong  zone who is under suspension and letter was served to him at his various addresses available in office record but the letters were received back undelivered with remarks that addresse not found. He has been asked to report his controlling authority within then days failing which action will be taken against him.
  • The Dorbar Shnong, Umpling has once again issued a warning that dumping of cabbages, and soil within the jurisdiction of Umpling locality is banned and any one found violating the prohibition will be taken to task.

Competition

Nangkiew Sports, Social & Cultural Club will be organizing an archery competition on February 9 at Polo Ground from 9 am onwards. Registration fee for individuals is Rs 10 and Rs 300 per team. The winning team will walk away with a cash prize of Rs 20, 000, Rs 4000 for the runners up, in the individual category the cash prize will be Rs 8000 for the winner and Rs 2000 for the runners up.
