BJP to conduct survey for LS election strategy

SHILLONG: The Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Meghalaya Pradesh has decided that the Party would conduct a survey to assess the situation for either supporting any other non Congress political parties or to contest on its own for the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, BJP Meghalaya General Secretary Dipayan Chakraborty said that for the upcoming District Council, the committee was of the opinion that since Parliamentary election would be held immediately after the District Election, all efforts and resources need to be concentrated for Parliamentary elections.
Meanwhile the State Unit of the BJP has decided to assist in the Statue of Unity Movement at Gujarat and has asked the State leaders asked to co-operate in the construction of the Statue of Unity (SOU).
